Mental Health in Peace River School Division

In Peace River School Division (PRSD), we believe that in order for students to achieve their full potential, they must be happy and healthy.  Therefore, we strive to provide supports, services and resources that support positive mental health for our students.  Did you know that every PRSD school has a designated Youth Education Support Worker or Success Coach? Youth Education Support Workers and Success Coaches provide education and prevention in order to foster positive mental health support through classroom presentations, conflict resolution, anger management, grief and loss, small group work, community presentations and the coordination of support from outside agencies.  PRSD schools also observe and take part in several national dates of awareness in support of mental health and on a divisional level, all schools recognize and are highly involved with Pink Shirt Day in February and Mental Health Awareness Week in May.  To learn more about services and supports offered at your child’s school, please contact your school principal.
